Book Fair, Raffle Baskets, Spirit Week- week of 10/30/23
Parent night on Thursday 11/2: Book fair will be open, we will be selling pizza and raffle baskets will be on display/ticket sales begin

Walking Club- thank you to everyone who joined in! This will happen every Friday at 8am, meeting in front of the school.
We have gotten great feedback regarding sending monthly calendars home. Please be sure to look for them at the beginning of each month!
Dr. Pond is looking at restarting the Watch D.O.G.S. program! D.O.G.S. stands for Dads Of Great Students. This program harnesses the positive impact male role models make for our scholars. Watch out for more information on how to get involved in this program soon! We are looking for 8 dads who can commit to come to the school from 11-4 once a month.
3. Upcoming Events
$5 PTO Book Buck were given to any student who came to the parent night on 11/2 to be used at the Book Fair.
Middle School Dance is Friday, December 15 from 6-8 pm.
Kids Fun Cart- we will be providing a fun cart with small (non-food) items for the scholars on Monday, 12/18. Items such as stickers and Fidgets will be available on it.
Spirit Nights: These are the FIRST Thursday of each month. If anyone has ideas on venues we can partner with, please email us at peakcharterpto@gmail.com OR send a message on our website PeakPTO.org.

Hurricanes Game! We have gotten the opportunity to partner with the Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Team for their game on THURSDAY, MARCH 21 at 7pm to watch the Canes v. Philadelphia Flyers. The tickets will be in two price ranges, and will be in a block so all participants will get to sit together. More details will be sent out as this event gets closer.
Moral Focus: November's moral focus is Gratitude. We are grateful for our wonderful school and our exceptional parents!
If anyone LOVES making bulletin boards, please let us know! We could use help with decorating our PTO bulletin board (you would be provided with a budget for decorating). The themes typically center around the season or the moral focus.
4. School Partnerships
Sometimes we as parents wonder, where are all of these donations even GOING?! Here are a few things your PTO has done so far this year with your help!
PTO partnered with Peak Ambassador to welcome incoming Kindergarten families with our Tears and Cheers. We served pastries, juice and on oppportunity to meet other parents. This year we had a record turn out!
PTO provided neck fans for the teachers to beat the heat during sweltering carpool days.
Monthly birthday cakes are provided for staff birthdays
Custodian appreciation week: new ear buds were purchased for our custodial staff Ms. Anita, Ms. Stephanie, and Mr. Darren
Baba Ghannouj: Raheela Ghanayem and family donated a phenomenal lunch to our staff from their restaurant, Baba Ghannouj, located at 5400 S. Miami Blvd. in Durham. Everyone really enjoyed the fresh and delicious meal!
Anyone with a restaurant or anyone who would like to sponsor a teacher breakfast or lunch please let us know and we can help coordinate this with the school!

EduKit sales brought in $897
GoPlaySave sales netted $3685
Pirates Closet ($1367) Paint the Rock ($506) and Mabel's Label's (no return yet) are on-going fundraisers.
Q1 carpool raffle raised $1223

6. Volunteers
Thank you to everyone who has helped out this year. It has been the best turn out for parent engagement and volunteering since the pandemic, and we are so thankful.
Thank you to everyone who helped with our GoPlaySave envelope stuffing, picture day, and for helping Mr. F. with fine arts night.
HUGE EXTRA SPECIAL thank you to our Grade Level Parent Coordinators. They worked diligently on making the AMAZING raffle baskets.
